Common questions
How Fast We Get to You
Timing is what most people ask about first.
How fast can you get here?
Often same or next day for a standard job. Sparks, burning smells or no power jump the queue as genuine emergencies. We'll tell you honestly on the phone what kind of timeframe you're looking at, rather than guessing.
How soon can you fit me in?
Most non-urgent bookings land within a day or two of your call. We'd rather commit to a time we can actually keep than promise something we can't deliver.
How do I book?
Ring (02) 9134 9024 and you'll get a real local on the line, never a script-reading call centre. A few quick questions about the job, and you're booked in for a time that suits.
Do you work weekends?
Weekday bookings are the norm, though genuine emergencies get covered any day. Got something non-urgent but a weekday won't work? Mention it when you call and we'll see what fits.
Common questions
Pricing, Straight Up
No hourly rate, no surprises on the invoice, and it starts with a straight answer.
How do quotes work?
You get a fixed price in writing before any work begins. There's no hourly rate ticking away, and if the job turns out bigger once we're inside the wall, we stop and talk to you before going further.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
There's no charge just to have a look and quote. We turn up, assess what's needed, and the visit itself won't cost you a thing unless you decide to proceed.
Is the quote really free?
Genuinely free, no strings attached. Take it, sit on it, or shop it around, and you won't be charged a cent regardless.
Do prices change once you start?
Once the price is written down, it holds. The only exception is if we open something up and find more going on than expected. If that happens, we stop, show you what we've found, and agree new terms before continuing.
Common questions
Local Answers for Rouse Hill
A handful of questions that come up specifically in this patch of the Hills Shire.
Can you handle new builds and renovations here?
Both, regularly. Rouse Hill runs from brand-new estate builds through to homes from the suburb's first development wave in the 1980s and 1990s. Fresh switchboard installs and bringing an older board up to scratch are equally familiar territory.
Why do Rouse Hill's older homes need switchboard upgrades?
Boards fitted when these estates were first built weren't sized for what today's household throws at them. Solar, ducted air conditioning, EV chargers and pool circuits stack extra load onto a board built for far less. That mismatch is behind most of the upgrade calls we get locally.
How local are you, really?
We're through Rouse Hill and the wider Hills Shire on a regular run, not dropping in occasionally. That means the estate streets and the older pockets are both familiar, and getting to you usually doesn't mean crossing half of Sydney first.
What suburbs do you service?
Rouse Hill and the neighbouring suburbs of Kellyville, Beaumont Hills, The Ponds, Box Hill and Stanhope Gardens. Just outside that list? Call anyway, since our regular run often extends a little further.
Common questions
Safety, Standards and Paperwork
The compliance side, kept plain.
What is a Certificate of Compliance and do I get one?
It's proof, on paper, that notifiable work has been tested and meets AS/NZS 3000. We lodge it with NSW Fair Trading and hand you a copy once the job wraps up.
What brands do you install?
Clipsal and Hager for switchgear, SAL and Beacon Lighting for fittings. Premium, not the cheap imports that need replacing within a couple of years.
What is a safety switch (RCD) and do I need one?
It watches for current leaking somewhere it shouldn't and shuts the circuit down almost instantly if it finds any. That's well before a fault turns into a shock or a fire. Every NSW home is required to have them, and older switchboards often carry fewer than the current minimum.
Can I do my own electrical work in NSW?
Beyond swapping a light globe, no. DIY electrical work is illegal in NSW, and anything touching wiring, switches or circuits legally needs a licensed electrician. Partly for safety, partly because unlicensed work can void your home insurance.
